BEAUTY DIARIES - SKIN

TOP EIGHT FOODS FOR YOUR SKIN

With a hectic lifestyle, time management, stress and the convenience of eating out, healthy food is a distant dream. You’ve probably been depriving your body (and your skin) of vital nutrients in the race of keeping up with life. Our expert reveals some healthy foods that will help you balance it out!

Water:
To stabilise your internal system, drink at least seven to eight glasses of water. It gives it a natural radiance that will last longer than any facial.

Green tea:
Green tea has an anti-inflammatory effect on the body that helps soothe sensitive skin. And let’s not forget its anti-ageing benefits!

Broccoli:
Broccoli is a rich source of Vitamin A that improves the turnover of skin cells. It is also rich in zinc that helps strengthen the skin against daily damage.

Almonds:
Apart from curbing your hunger pangs, nuts help make your skin supple and soft. Almonds are enriched with Vitamin E that nourishes the skin from within.

Citrus fruits:
Ever noticed how most skin care companies bank on the goodness of citrus fruit extracts in their products? Vitamin C produces collagen that keeps the skin tight and gives it an even glow.

Avocado:
This wonder fruit is rich in B-complex and essential oils that make the skin smooth and even. When applied directly onto the skin, its anti-inflammatory properties soothe irritated skin.

Mushrooms:
These little buttons of goodness are great for taste and also add a lot of zinc to your salad! They boost collagen production that helps get rid of dull skin, white spots, blemishes, acne and other skin maladies.

Yogurt:
Whether you smear it directly on to your skin or eat it with some chopped fruits, yogurt cools down agitated skin cells. It contains good bacteria which helps retain skin’s natural goodness.
