Regardless of how skilful you are at makeup, creating a smokey eye can feel overwhelming every time. You have to be careful with the intensity of the shadow - too little and the effect won’t show, too much and you can end up looking sleep-deprived. But smokey eye makeup also happens to be one of the most versatile and stylish glam looks you can create to match any outfit.
So, how do you overcome this hurdle? Well, we have the perfect daytime smokey eye for you to try! It is so easy to recreate and super wearable for any kind of daytime soiree you have in mind...
Step 01: Prep -
A smokey eye needs a well-prepped base and to do this, all you need to do is dot the Lakmé Absolute White Intense Liquid Concealer all over your eyelids and blend with an eyeshadow brush of your fingers. Set it with the Lakmé 9 to 5 Naturale Finishing Powder translucent loose powder to set the concealer.
Step 02: Fill in the colours -
Start with a light, peachy and soft transition colour just above the crease area; the shade will help blend all the colours easily and give it a soft transition. Next, use a darker brown colour as you move closer to your upper lash line and blend with a pointed blending brush. For the final touch, use a shader brush and apply the darkest brown to your upper lash line. Then, using a smudger brush, smoke out the pigment to create a lovely smokey effect. You can use the Lakmé Absolute Spotlight Eye Shadow Palette - Smokin Glam to create this look.
Step 03: Go in with the kohl -
As is with any smokey eye, you need kohl to add depth to it. Line your upper lash line (till the centre of your iris) using the Lakmé Absolute Kohl Ultimate - Ash Brown. Then, using a smudger brush to gently smoke out the kohl as well.
Step 04: Sharpen and clean up -
Use the Simple Daily Skin Detox Oil Be Gone Micellar Water to give your smokey eye a cat-eye look. Dip a cotton pad in micellar water and wipe the edges, moving upwards and outwards, to create the effect. Apply some shimmer to the inner corner of your eye to really make it pop!
Step 05: Smoke out the lower lash line -
To smoke out the lower lash line, use the same brown kohl and darkest brown shade. Stack them on top of each other, only halfway through your eye. For the final touch, dab the shader brush on the peach shadow and rim the entire lower lash line. Finish off with the Lakmé Eyeconic Curling Mascara - Black for a dramatic effect.
