Do you spend at least 20 minutes picking out a shade after every manicure session only to step out, see it in the sunlight and instantly regret it? Ever tried on a shade that looked stunning on your BFF’s hands but plain ugly on yours? You’re not alone. We’ve all been there! Thankfully, we’ve become wiser and don’t choose nail colours just because we like them!
We put a lot of effort into looking for a foundation or lipstick that matches our skin tone. But when it comes to nail colour, we usually don’t care as much. Well, not anymore. We put together a guide to choosing the perfect nail paint for your skin tone, whether you’re fair, wheatish or dusky. We promise they’ll look bomb on your hands.
Light skin tone
When it comes to nudes and pastels, those with a light skin tone need to be very careful as some shades can easily wash them out. Opt for lighter shades of pink and red with blue undertones to brighten up your skin.
Medium/ wheatish skin tone
Medium and wheatish skin tones can carry off almost every shade, right from stunning oranges to classic reds with ease. Most medium skin tones are a mix of both cool and warm undertones. So, silver and metallic nail colours also look great. Reds with gold undertones look particularly flattering on medium skin tone.
Deep skin tone
Those with a deep skin tone can play around with a lot of nail colours. If you’ve always stayed close to dark shades, here’s a suggestion, please don’t! There’s so much you are missing out on! Try neon brights because they look particularly stunning on deep skin tones.
