Pssst… we also have tips on how to prevent them from drying in the first place. Excited? Scroll below to find out what these tips are.

Store the products upside down

It’s really important to store your makeup properly in order to prevent it from drying out in the first place. Always store your cream products upside down; doing so will ensure that the oils in the product fall to the top, keeping the cream-based product moist.

Double-check the lid

We often forget to shut the lid of the container tightly when in a rush. This is one of the most common reasons why your cream-based products keep drying out. After using it, always double-check the lid and ensure that you’ve shut it tightly so that no air can pass through.

Use a little bit of setting spray

Use a little bit of setting spray

This is a quick tip that pros swear by. If you notice that your cream product has dried out and you want to use it immediately, simply spritz a few pumps of any makeup setting spray over the surface and leave it aside to let it sink into the product. This hack provides a quick boost of hydration and makes the product work more smoothly.

Dispense some heat

Another great hack you can try is to place out the dried-out cream makeup product under a warm lamp for about half a minute until the product starts ‘sweating’ which means that you will be able to see a few droplets forming on the surface. This is your cue to take it out and start using it as usual.

Mix a bit of primer

If none of the above hacks work, turn to your primer. Simply add a pea-sized amount of a hydrating primer to the dried-out cream product and mix it well. This will instantly revive the product and make it go on smoothly.
