A 5-step makeup routine for a day at the beach

Since it’s summer and every weekend is turning into a not-so-impromptu beach getaway, we thought you might need a quick beauty lesson. Since the temperatures are soaring, and you have to be wearing protective masks, there is a need to have a budge-proof makeup routine in place if you want to avoid a makeup faux pas. And guess what, it’s not as complicated as you think. Makeup for the beach is all about nailing the skin prep before layering on sheer coverage foundation and applying just a hint of tint here and there. Here are the essential products that you will need and some tricks to make the look last on the sweatiest days…

Step 01: Primer - Start by creating a mattifying base that will control excess oil and give you a smooth, crease-free surface for the makeup to sit on. The Lakmé Absolute Undercover Gel Primer is enriched with vitamin E and lends a slight glow to your face while making your makeup last longer.

Step 02: Foundation - Apply a sheer layer of the Lakmé Invisible Finish SPF 8 Foundation. The ultra-light texture blends perfectly and lets your natural skin show from underneath. The added sun protection is a major plus.

Step 03: Powder - Set the base with the Lakmé 9 to 5 Naturale Finishing Powder for an oil-free, matte look that won’t melt away with sweat. The green tea and aloe-infused formula will keep your skin feeling calm and fresh in the scorching sun.

Step 04: Pop on a lip - Since you aren’t playing up your peepers, make sure you add a touch of colour to your lips. Sweep on a bright lipstick from the Lakmé Absolute Matte Melt Mini Liquid Lip Colour collection. It will stay put under your mask, and you can throw one in your beach tote for instant touch-up as well.

Step 05: Add shimmer - If you want the beachy glow without having to participate in a sweaty volleyball match, use the Lakmé Absolute Illuminating Shimmer Brick. Lightly dust over the highpoints of your face for that envious glow.
