Now that the shoes and boots season is officially gone, it’s time to flaunt your pretty feet in those sandals. One of the simple joys of summer is walking along the sea shore barefoot. However, exposure to sun and sand can leave your feet wanting some serious TLC. A pedicure session may not always do the trick, therefore we’ve come up with three easy DIY foot masks that will give you soft and tan free feet.

Foot scrub

While scrubs are readily available in the market, if you have enough time make one at home as they are super easy to make. Mix course sea salt, ground oatmeal and almonds. Now add a tablespoon each of olive and coconut oil. Scrub your feet with it for a few minutes to get rid of dry and dead skin cells. Wipe off with a warm towel to get smooth and soft feet.

Foot mask

A foot mask should be both moisturising and relaxing. Take equal amounts of rolled oats and brown sugar, add a cup of honey. Now add a tablespoon of lemon juice and olive oil to this mixture and transfer to Ziploc bags. Place your feet in the bags, sit back and relax for 10 minutes as the mask does its magic. Wipe the mask off and wash with a gentle cleanser.

Foot treatment

If you have rough feet a moisturising mask won’t be enough. Summers can make your feet look dry and parched, use this foot treatment to get happy feet. In a blender add two small cucumbers, two tablespoons of lemon juice and three tablespoons of olive oil. Transfer the mixture to plastic bags, place your feet inside and secure with rubber bands around the ankles. Let stay for 10-15 minutes and then rinse off.
