Is your skin ready for monsoon? These skincare hacks will make sure it is!
So you thought your skin will feel better once the scorching summer heat has passed? But, here we are yet again! While monsoon makes everything clearer and prettier, it does just the opposite to our skin. It brings with it skin woes like acne, dullness and dryness to name a few! But it doesn’t have to be like that. With a little effort you can get your skin monsoon ready.
Here’s how you can prep your skin for the monsoon and make sure it is as beautiful as the weather outside...
Not without a moisturiser
Hydrate your skin like your life depends on it. The fluctuation in weather and humidity level makes dry skin even drier and flaky in the monsoon. Keep a nourishing and lightweight moisturiser close and lock in the moisture with a hydrating face mask twice every week.
Breakup with breakouts
Acidic rain water and sudden change in weather can invite acne and breakouts now obviously that is the last thing you want! Plus, the grime and dirt on your face are other contributing factors. To fight acne in the rainy season, follow a proper skincare regimen, swear by non-greasy skincare products that don’t clog your pores and use a mild scrub to get the excess oil off.
Sunscreen is still a must
If you think you don’t need sunscreen as there is no visible sun on most days, let us tell you that rain or no rain, sunscreen is your skin’s best friend. The unpredictable weather can change and UVB rays can affect your skin at any time. Thus, it is always safe to go out with a good amount of SPF on your skin to keep tanning and ageing signs at bay.
Exfoliate to get that glow back
Gloomy weather makes your skin gloomy too. This happens because your skin loses moisture and hence loses its natural glow. Exfoliate regularly to get the dead skin cells, dirt and sebum off your skin and unlock that healthy and natural glow.
Keep your face clean and oil-free
Your skin can become extremely oily during monsoon, thanks to the high humidity in the air. It produces excess sebum which clogs the pores and results in acne, blackheads and more. Cleanse your face 2-3 times a day with a foaming face wash and use lukewarm water to rinse.
