This may sound surprising, but yellow eye shadow is one of the most neutral shades out there. This is because, yellow is only a couple of shades lighter than brown, and so, works on almost every skin tone. What’s great about yellow eye shadow is that it doesn’t look clownish even in the slightest, but actually looks quite modern and chic. Dusky skin tones (and most other skin tones as well) have a yellow undertone, and so, yellow eye shadow works perfectly. Try going for an amber pigment at night, or a pastel yellow in the day, and pair it with a light shade of lipstick so that you don’t look like you’re trying to hard.
Yes, you read right—orange-red eye shadow, is great for dusky skin tones. As the name suggests, this shade is somewhere between orange and red, and can be used along with other shades such as brown, gold, and bronze, for a more festive look. We love this shade because it looks great on the eyelids, as well as the crease of your eye.Make a similar colour with the Lakmé Absolute Illuminating Eye Shadow Palette in French Rose.
3. Purple eye shadow
Purple eye shadow is a stellar shade that can add some glamour to your overall look. Right from dark purple to light purple, almost every shade of blue looks great on dusky skin tones. Whether you’re going to a wedding, or hitting the club, purple eye shadow works really well at night. However, do make sure the pigment is of high quality, as poor quality purple eye shadow may make your skin seem dirty. When paired with nude lips, this shade of eye shadow looks absolutely stunning.

4. Pink eye shadow
Whether it’s baby pink, or even a much darker shade of pink, pink eye shadow looks nothing short of wonderful on dusky skin. It’s easy for baby pink eye shadow to go unnoticed however, and so, you could add a little sparkle to your look by using a shimmery-pink eye shadow for your look to stand out. To take your makeup look up a notch, you could wear the same shade on your waterline, and make your eyes pop.
You’ll find this shimmery pink in the Lakmé Eye Colour Quartet in Desert Rose.
5. Green eye shadow
Green eye shadow—especially olive green eye shadow—is one of our favourite eye shadow colours. Olive green eye shadow, in the form of a smoky eye, looks really gorgeous on dusky skin tones, and works well during the day and night. If you don’t want to take the trouble to do a smokey eye, you could also choose to go with shimmery olive green eye shadow, that’ll look great at a wedding, cocktail party, and other festive events.
