Basic tees are undoubtedly comfortable but they can get a bit boring and monotonous after a while. Which is why, we decided to give our favourite basic white tee a quick upgrade with a printed DIY pocket. Here how you follow suit for an equally fashionable upgrade...

A basic white tee

A strip of printed fabric (we got one from our local tailor)

A chart paper

A pair of scissors and fabric glue

Cut a piece of out of the chart paper in the size you want your pocket to be. We suggest a 2 inch square for a perfect pocket.

Cut a piece out from the printed fabric an inch or two bigger to that of the cardboard. Paste glue on the edges of the fabric and the cardboard and stick the cloth by folding the hems on the inside to create a pocket. Go for an aztec or vintage wallpaper print fabric to lend a trendy twist.

Stick the pocket on the tee and let it dry for a while. Iron well and you have a brand new tee to call your own.

Wear it with just about anything- jeans, skirts or even with your dungarees. Just make sure there’s nothing else too loud you’re wearing to overpower your DIY.
