We have found the simplest of items that can help you remove acrylic nails safely at home (without burning a hole in your pocket). When it comes to removing acrylic nails, acetone is your best bet. Acetone dissolves the acrylic nails and helps you remove them easily. To begin with, clip the acrylic nails as short as possible and file away the top coat and nail polish to avoid any mess on your hands. Next, take some Vaseline Original Pure Skin Jelly and apply it on the skin around your cuticles. Now, take cotton pads, soak them in acetone and place it carefully on each fingernail. Use an aluminum foil and wrap it over the cotton pad so that it stays in place. Wait for 30 minutes before you pull the aluminum foil gently and let the acrylic nail come off with it.

If you are not too comfortable with acetone, then here's the perfect alternative for you. This method may take a little longer but it'll help you remove those stubborn acrylic nails. Start by clipping the nails as short as possible. Pry the edges using the pointy end of a tweezer. Next, soak your nails in a bowl of acetone-free nail polish remover for at least 30-40 minutes. Once you feel the nail polish has loosened, pull it off gently with the tweezer.

Here's the fastest way to remove acrylic nails (no, you don't have to splurge). All you need to do is fish out a business card from your purse and keep some sticks handy. Pry the edges of the acrylic nails by using these sticks and make a small inlet. Next, take the laminated business card and slide it into the inlet while applying gentle pressure in an upward motion. Do this slowly and one side at a time to avoid ripping off a layer of your natural nail bed. And the nails will pop right out.
