Doja Cat is a fantastic singer and performer, there's no doubt about that. But a cursory scroll through the 'Say So' star's Instagram, and you'll be struck by one thing, and only one thing — her weird, wonderful, out there, experimental makeup looks. From extreme neons to wacky eyeshadows, she leaves no stone unturned when it comes to experimenting with her makeup. And we think her feed and her playfulness with makeup sends the right message — that makeup isn't for perfection; at the end of the day, it's all about having fun!
Needless to say, her experimental looks have a special place in our hearts. Ahead, we're listing down our favourite Doja Cat experimental makeup looks that basically live rent-free in our head at this point. Check ‘em out…
- 01. All green everything
- 02. E-girl extra
- 03. Early '00s Throwback
- 04. Wingin' it
- 05. Smoke-show
- 06. Pinkin' out loud
01. All green everything
This one's not for the faint-hearted! With an all neon look, Doja Cat takes eyeliner to the next level — and matches her entire look to it. With floating, neon green eyeliner that matches with a glittering black wing and nude brown lips, you can probably spot this look from a mile away. We especially love the fact that she's matched her nails, her hair, and her sunnies to the look too.
02. E-girl extra
Remember went Doja Cat was the quintessential e-girl? While her makeup looks may have gotten wilder over time, we still consider her e-girl phase to have set the bar for what makeup needed to look like in 2020. Heavy on the blush, IG brows, and big lashes — and let's not forget the drawn-on freckles, either.
03. Early '00s Throwback
Remember blue eyeshadow? That was a phase for most of us, but Doja Cat's all for bringing it back — and we're here for it. The musician makes the early '00s look her own, with icy blue shadow and white polka dots, making for the perfect throwback look. Brownie points for the whacky hairdo!
04. Wingin' it
Now that's what you call graphic liner! Doja cat's graphic winged liner is offset by turquoise hues that pop up near the inner corners and towards the edges, making for a statement that manages to be bold but tasteful at the same time. Her pared-down base and nude lipstick compliment the look perfectly, and the brushed down baby hair at the front of her face just add more to the drama.
Seeking smokey eyeshadow inspiration? Go the Doja Cat route, and make it all black and blended! Her dramatic eyeshadow is experimental yet makes us wish we could look as cool as her, especially with the glossy lips, the barely-there blows, and the wet hair.
06. Pinkin' out loud
We've established by now that Doja Cat is no stranger to wild and wonderful makeup, and the star definitely delivers with this monochromatic look. With bold, pink hues forming an almost mask-like effect over her eyes, she compliments it with heavy blush over the centre of the face and peachy lips that only add to it further. Doja, can you give us some makeup lessons already?
