Ever dropped your compact or blush and watched it shatter into a million pieces, along with your heart? Or have you ever opened your makeup kit after a long journey only to find that your lipstick has broken? The absolute worst, right?
You don't have to throw out your broken makeup anymore! Be it your broken lipstick or dried mascara, they deserve better. You can bring them back to life and we know exactly how.
So, the next time you break your much-loved makeup babies or they dry out waiting in your makeup kit for you to notice them, fix them using these brilliant hacks.
Mascara won’t apply as smoothly as it did when you bought it? You don’t have to wear clumpy lashes just because your mascara dried before its expiry date. You can either try putting the bottle in hot water for a few minutes or put in a few drops of eye drops and shake it to make it liquid-y again. This works for a dried pen liner as well.
One moment you are thinking of all the compliments your favourite lip colour would totally get you and the next thing you know it’s lying on the floor! Put both the parts in the freezer for 15 minutes and then lightly melt the broken ends with a lighter (or blow hot air from a blow dryer) for a couple of seconds. Place the bullet on the broken base and twist it inside. Freeze again for another 15 minutes and it’s good as new!
Dried nail paint
If you forgot to keep your nail paints in a cool, dry place, chances are it is thick and dried out by now. No worries! You can loosen it up and restore it in no time. Simply add a few drops of nail polish remover into the bottle and roll it between your palms to mix it properly.
Broken compact or powder blush
Broken compact? Carefully gather all the powdery pieces and grind into fine powder just trust us using the back end of a makeup brush. Add some rubbing alcohol and mix it with the powder. Fill the compact or blush container with this mixture and smoothen it out by pressing a coin wrapped in plastic. Let it dry overnight and use the next day carefully this time!.
Dried makeup pencils
Lip liners, kajal pencils and brow pencils tend to dry out and leave a patchy finish when you apply. Instead of dumping them into the trash, restore the same smooth texture by applying Vaseline Pure Skin Jelly on your lip liners and heating the tips of your kajals and brow pencils with a lighter (or blow hot air from a blow dryer) for a few seconds. There, hundreds of bucks saved!
