It is true when they say that no two people can have a makeup routine that looks exactly the same. The only way to up your makeup game is to adapt it specifically for yourself — editing it according to your needs. Got an even skin tone already? Skip the foundation and use tinted moisturisers instead. Want to add definition to your face? Fill in your brows… It all depends on how well you know your features.
One of the additional makeup steps that some women have to incorporate is concealing their under-eye veins. And if you are in need of some guidance, we have a few tips. Unfortunately, your foundation on its own won't be able to cover them up correctly. Follow these steps to use the magic of makeup to hide under-eye veins flawlessly.
Use an eye primer

It is a general rule to apply a layer of primer before you apply makeup on your face. The regulations stand for concealing veins as well. Use your regular primer or an eye primer to even out the skin, give your makeup a smooth canvas to work with and last long. We recommend using a matte formula like the Lakme Absolute Blur Perfect Makeup Primer. It hides imperfections and smooths out pores for a seamless finish.
Colour correct it

If you have never tried colour correcting, we suggest you start doing it now. Veins are usually deep green or purplish-blue in colour. They need to be cancelled out by colour correction for proper coverage. To balance out the colour of your veins use a yellow or peach tinted corrector, similar to what you'll use for dark circles. Blend it out entirely and don't worry if it looks odd because the next step will fix it!
Apply waterproof concealer

While colour correction is enough to cover up under-eye veins, it is best to follow up with a concealer that matches your skin tone. A seamless application and a reason to add a waterproof step in the routine won't do you any harm. Especially if you are a crier (!), use a long-stay formula like the Lakme Absolute White Intense Liquid Concealer. The brightening formula of this concealer gives you full coverage with a radiant finish.
Set with a powder

Here's how you set your under-eye makeup with a powder. Use an eyeshadow blending brush to collect some loose powder such the Lakme 9 to 5 Naturale Finishing Powder and press it into your under-eye area. The translucent and lightweight texture of the powder is perfect for an oil-free finish. Keep pressing it until you get the powder to settle perfectly in the area, wait a couple of seconds and do a single swipe with the brush at the end. This will get rid of any excess product and lock all the concealing goodness in!
