You’ve heard about draping in fashion but what does it have anything to do in makeup you’re wondering, right? For starters, this makeup trend took off at fashion runways some time ago and since then makeup junkies from around the world have adopted this trend to manipulate their facial features to get a more defined look. How is it any different than contouring you ask, we have answers to all your questions, read on as we answer them all...
What is draping?
Putting it simply, draping is contouring your face using a blush. Instead of applying a dark contour product to enhance the angles of your face, draping involves doing the same using a blush. This gives your face a softer, fresher and more natural look. So pull out your blush palettes because we’re about to teach you how to do it!
How to do it?
Step 1: Start by brushing some blush on your cheekbones. But use a contour brush to do this instead of your regular blush brush.
Step 2: Contour powder not only highlights your cheekbones but also sculpts the temples to give a more defined look. Draping is no different, use the brush to blend the product upwards towards your temples to get more definition.
Step 3: Since this is your first time, there’s a possibility that you might end up with too much blush on your face. An easy way to make it less visible is by dipping your brush in some loose setting powder and gently blending it on top of the blush.
