The grey skies and everyone’s sullen faces can do some serious damage to employee morale. Not to be stopped by a mere cloudburst (it does happen every single year!), here’s how we’re planning to add some cheer to our workplace…

Play up your work wear…

Play up your work wear…

If the weather’s getting you down but you don’t have the liberty to call in sick, switching up your wardrobe for something a tad brighter can do you and your colleagues some good. A pop of neon under your blazer, layered, metallic accessories or even a coloured handbag can do the trick. If you aren’t a big fan of solids, you can always fall back on a printed blouse, trousers or even a funky scarf. Trust us, all it takes is a hint of colour on a dull, cloudy day to be that bright, refreshing change that your cubicle was so in need of. If you want to play it safe, poppy pinks or dark maroons from the Lakmé 9to5 range of lip colour should be your best bet!

Play up your eyes…

Play up your eyes…

A subtle but fun way to wear your mood is to add some colour to your face. Yes, lip colour is one part of it, but if you’re been wearing your reds and corals to work way too often, we suggest experimenting with your eyes. The Lakmé Eyeconic liners in shades of blue and green should add some colour to your eyes while being subtle enough for work. With a super-smooth application that lasts for 10 hours you can use it as a liner or carefully spread it across your eyelid as a shadow for your post-work outings.

Play up your rain accessories…

Play up your rain accessories…

Even the skies have seen one too many black umbrellas, don’t you think? The easiest and most convenient way to add some colour to get you through those gloomy days is to invest in some rad rainwear. We’ve seen umbrellas with ikat print, dancing peacocks and of course, cats, doing the rounds. If you’re a more head-to-toe protection kind of person, transparent raincoats and windcheaters in the sunniest of colours should find a place in your wardrobe. And not to forget, the flashiest gumboots for those days when you need some serious ammo to get through the downpour.
