Raj Kapoor – Nargis

When talking about the most iconic Bollywood pairings, how can we not include Raj Kapoor and Nargis? Well, these two gave us one of the most romantic rain songs of all times – Pyaar Hua Ikraar Hua from the film Shree 420. The sight of them romancing under the umbrella will probably never fade away from the minds of Bollywood fans. So famous were they that they went on to star in as many as 16 films together from 1948 to 1956. Now if that’s not proof of their popularity, what is?
Amitabh Bachchan – Rekha

If Bollywood had a couple that exuded romance on screen, it has to be Big B and Rekha. Known as one of the most legendary on-screen pairings, this duo starred in as many as 10 films and had become one of the most coveted pairs of Hindi cinema. It was their last film together, Silsila directed by the late Yash Chopra that was considered a casting coup of sorts as it paired Big B, his wife Jaya Bachchan and Rekha—all three came together for the first time to wow the audiences.
Ranbir Kapoor – Deepika Padukone

If RK Jr. and Dippy are your favourite on-screen pairs, you would admit that it has a lot to do with their real-life romance that ended back in 2009. They filmed Bachna Ae Haseeno during their relationship but broke up shortly after that. The fact that they called it quits may have broken the hearts of millions but they surprised everyone when they signed on Ayan Mukerji’s rom-com Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani together. The film showed they still had the same spark on screen as they did back when they were a couple. One’s to maintain their friendship even after choosing to go separate ways, the duo will next be seen in Imtiaz Ali’s Tamasha. Are we excited or are we excited!
Shah Rukh Khan – Kajol

It was after the release of the iconic Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge that SRK and Kajol became every Bollywood lover’s favourite jodi. So magical was the Raj and Simran pairing that everyone wanted a love story like theirs. However, these two were first seen together in the thriller, Baazigar—a film that won them rave reviews for their acting but it was DDLJ that transformed them into one of the most-loved on-screen pairs. The duo has starred in six movies together—Karan Arjun, Baazigar, DDLJ, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham and My Name Is Khan. But fans, who’re waiting to see them together, here’s the good news—this pair will soon be seen in Rohit Shetty’s Dilwale, which is scheduled to release on 18th December, 2015. Do we see you doing a happy dance or what!
