Green with envy
Green is a beautiful colour that looks super flattering on Indian skin tones. Ditch the classic smokey eyes this season and take cue from Hina Khan on how to spice things up. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to recreate this look.
Step 01: Keeping the base matte, go in with the Lakmé Absolute Skin Natural Mousse and apply the feather-light, mattifying foundation evenly all over your face.
Step 02: To create a lifted effect under your eyes, go in with the Lakmé Absolute Mattreal Mousse Concealer one shade lighter than your skin tone to conceal those eye bags.
Step 03: Next, use the darker shade from the Lakmé Absolute Highlighter - Moon-Lit on your cheekbones, temples and jawline to bronze your face. Take the lighter shade from the same palette to highlight the high points.
Step 04: Onto your eyes! The eyes will help you bring in the pop of colour, and Hina Khan has opted for a bright green look — so we're going to do the same. Take the Lakmé 9 to 5 Eye Color Quartet Eye Shadow - Royal Peacock and first, go in with the tan shade and blend it near your crease. This will act as a transition shade.
Step 05: With the same palette, use the bright green shade and create an eyeliner-like effect with it just over your lash line. Use the green just under your lower lash line too, to create some extra definition. Now, using the same highlighter, and with the lighter shade, highlight the inner corners of your eyes to make them appear even brighter.
Step 06: Finally, end by defining your eyes with the cooling, long-staying Lakmé Eyeconic Insta Cool Kajal. Use the tight-line technique and rim your eyes with the nourishing kajal to bring in the drama.
Step 07: For your lips, use the Lakmé Limited Edition Lip Colour - Pink Delight, for a nude, long-staying pout.
Who said you can’t add a pop of colour to your makeup if you’re wearing a red lehenga. Hina Khan does the unthinkable and matches her lovely red attire with a poppy pink eyeshadow and we’re obsessed. Here’s how to recreate this look…
Step 01: Since this one is a more dewy, natural-looking festive makeup look, we'll first use the Lakmé Absolute Argan Oil Serum Foundation SPF 45 and apply the nourishing foundation all over the face for an even coverage.
Step 02: This look is a little more neutral, so we can skin concealer and move onto some good old blush. Take the Lakmé 9 to 5 Pure Rouge Blusher - Peach Affair, and apply the blush on the apples of your cheeks, and a little on your nose too, for a flushed look.
Step 03: Take a little bit of the Lakmé Lumi Cream for a natural-looking glow, and apply it on the high points of your face to make it look dewy and radiant.
Step 04: For your eyes, take the Lakmé Absolute Spotlight Eyeshadow Palette to achieve Hina Khan's neon-pink eyes. Start by using the matte, light brown shade on your crease as the transition shade. Then, take the matte magenta shade and apply it on the outer corner of your eyes. Make sure you blend thoroughly to avoid harsh lines.
Step 05: Take the shimmery hot pink shade, and apply it on the centre of your lid. Use a couple of coats of it to really make it stand out, and using a blending brush, apply it on your lower lash line too — but be sure to use a tiny bit!
Step 06: Use the lightest pink shimmery shade to highlight your inner corners, and blend it outwards to create an almost ombré-like effect.
Step 07: Finally, for your lips, bring in the definition with the vivid matte Lakmé Absolute Precision Lip Paint - Alluring Nude. It comes with an expert brush that offers pro-like precision and ensures that your pout stays perfect all through your festivities.
