If you’re someone who takes hairstyling notes from Alia Bhatt, then you have her hairstylist Priyanka Borkar to thank! Priyanka is the one behind Alia’s dainty, perky hairstyles that are always the center of attention. While the diva keeps her makeup game to a bare minimum, her hairstyles are most often the highlight of her look. From voluminous ponytails to waterfall braids and half-up half-down to low buns, Priyanka has created the cutest, chicest hairstyles for our favourite millennial, Alia Bhatt over the last few years. And not just Alia, hairstylist Priyanka has also styled other A-listers such as Jacqueline Fernandez, Yami Gautam and Priyanka Chopra to name a few.
Since Priyanka Borkar’s hairstyles are such a huge hit in the beauty circuit, we at Bebeautiful were curious to know about the inspiration behind all the young and fun looks she creates and all about her successful journey in the industry.

BB: How has your journey been so far? How did it all start?

PB: I started my career with Kanta Motwani at Kromakay, she was the one who introduced me to the film industry. My journey has been nothing but amazing, full of new experiences.
BB: Where do you derive your inspiration from?

PB: Inspiration is around you. I get mine from the people I meet, things I see and places I visit.
BB: What is your signature look and what is so special about it?

PB: I don’t really know if I have a signature look, I hope not because I thrive on doing new things every time.
BB: Tell us about some of the most interesting projects you’ve worked on.

PB: Every project I have worked on has been interesting and a learning experience. It will be unfair to say one is more or less than the other. But hav* said that I’ve worked on films that make me really shape a character such as ‘Saat Khoon Maaf’, ‘Bajirao Mastani’ and ‘Raazi’. It was fun working on these films.
BB: You are seen working with Alia Bhatt the most. What is your working relationship with her?

PB: Alia for me is an insanely talented person to be around. At such a young age she inspires me to be a better version of myself every day. We are friends who are working together.
BB: Give us one hair tip to convert a day time, office look to a night time, party look.

PB: A quick way of converting a day look into a party look is by simply tying your hair into a messy ponytail or a top knot and adding some texture with your fingers and hairspray.
BB: What are the new hair trends that you’re excited to try?

PB: I really want to go neon green with my hair!
BB: How do you keep yourself updated on new hair trends?

PB: I am always online (which may not be so good) but the internet is the best medium to get inspiration from and to make learning so accessible.
BB: What hair tips do you have for our readers for the monsoon season?

PB: In the monsoon, make sure you are using serum or hair spray to keep your hair protected and your style in place. I suggest you wear your hair as natural as possible and keep it simple without going OTT.
