One of the most renowned and useful herbs in Ayurveda is hibiscus. Yes, the red flower not only looks beautiful but also offers a wide range of benefits; it is particularly used to address a lot of hair concerns. Right from hair loss to dryness, hibiscus can put an end to all of them.

Available in the form of oil, powder and the flowers itself, there are many ways to use this flower in your hair care routine to get healthy mane. If you have hibiscus flowers growing in your garden or in the neighbourhood we recommend using the petals for best results. Here are three ways you can use it.

 

For stronger hair

For stronger hair

You will need:

  • 3-4 hibiscus leaves
  • 1 hibiscus flower
  • 4 tablespoons curd

Method:

Step 01: Blend the hibiscus leaves and flowers to form a paste.

Step 02: Add curd to this paste and mix well to form a smooth consistency.

Step 03: Apply this paste to your hair and scalp in the form of a mask.

Step 04: Allow it to sit for an hour, you can cover your hair with a shower cap to prevent mess.

Step 05: Wash off your hair with water and a mild shampoo.

 

For dry hair

For dry hair

You will need:

  • 2 tablespoons crushed hibiscus petals
  • 2 tablespoons curd
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons coconut milk
  • 4 tablespoons aloe vera gel

Method:

Step 01: Add crushed hibiscus, coconut milk and honey in a bowl

Step 02: Add aloe vera gel and curd. Mix all the ingredients together to form a thick paste.

Step 03: Apply this paste to your scalp and hair and let it stay for 30 minutes.

Step 04: Wash off with lukewarm water and a mild shampoo.

 

For promoting hair growth

For promoting hair growth

You will need:

  • 3 tablespoons crushed hibiscus flower
  • 2 egg whites

Step 01: Mix the two ingredients together in a bowl to form a paste.

Step 02: Apply this paste evenly on your scalp and hair and let it sit for 20 minutes. Cover with a shower cap to avoid mess.

Step 03: Rinse off with lukewarm water and a mild shampoo.
