Want to get your natural hair colour back? It's not difficult!

So you got your hair coloured a really pretty shade of pastel pink to keep up with the latest hair colour trend, but maintaining it is another story altogether. From investing in a plethora of mindfully curated haircare products to finding your way to the salon every few weeks for root touch-ups, it is quite the task.

Maybe you love your hair colour, but aren’t ready to invest the time and energy it takes to maintain it or you hate it so much that you balk every time you happen to catch a glimpse of yourself in the mirror. Whatever your reason to go back to your original hair colour, there are a number things you can do to make this transition simple and stress free. Read on to find out how…

Let your hair grow out

Maybe cut your hair short

Growing your hair out to get back to your natural hair colour may not seem like an obvious option because there is the fear of a clear demarcation between your new growth and the coloured portion. But even so, growing your hair is one of the best ways to go back to your natural hair colour. To do this the right way wait until you have about two inches of visible roots before getting balayage highlights. This will ensure that your coloured roots fade beautifully into the coloured ends. This is an extremely low maintenance option and won’t require you to touch up at all.

Colour your hair to the shade closest to your natural hair colour

Maybe cut your hair short

This is perhaps the easiest fix we can think of for returning to your natural hair colour. It’s almost like you fake it ‘til you make it, you know? As your hair grows, you will slowly but surely start to go back to your natural hair colour. But to make sure that your stylist knows exactly what you need, don’t forget to bring a picture of your natural hair colour with you.

Opt for a shorter haircut

Maybe cut your hair short

Waiting for the coloured hair to grow out requires a lot of patience, and sometimes we are just not up for that sort of commitment. Therefore, you may want to consider cutting your hair short to help speed up the process. Think of it this way: the shorter your mane, the less growing out you’ll have to do. This is also a great way to break out of your hair monotony and rock a new look.
