In the Makeup 101 masterclass held by celebrity makeup artist Mitesh Rajani, the expert spilled the beans on some interesting makeup tips for those who love sporting a natural makeup look.
Read on to find out what they are…
Makeup tip #01: Prep your skin right
The most important thing to keep in mind if you want to achieve a no-makeup makeup look is to prep your skin right. A face mist, a good moisturising cream and a primer before going in with your makeup can actually do wonders in helping your makeup look natural. Prepping your skin will not only make your makeup stay on for longer but also help your foundation stay put.
Makeup tip #02: Don’t use mascara on your lower lashes
If you want to achieve a natural, no-makeup makeup look, then it’s best to apply mascara only on your upper lashes. Applying mascara on your bottom lashes can make you look OTT. While you can volumise and lift the upper lashes with the help of mascara, it’s best to keep things simple on your lower lashes.
Makeup tip #03: Use blush before foundation
Celebrity makeup artist Mitesh Rajani stresses on the fact that if you want a lit-from-within glow for a no-makeup makeup look, then it’s best to apply blush before foundation. When you do that, your cheeks will have just a flush of colour and your skin will look well-hydrated.
Makeup tip #04: Lip balm first, lip liner second, lipstick third
To keep your lipstick soft, subtle and on point, it’s best to go in with products in a precise manner. Start with a lip balm first. In fact, Mitesh suggests that you apply lip balm just before starting your makeup to allow the lip balm to settle on your lips. Now, before going in with a lip liner, make sure you dab the lip balm with your fingers or else the other products will slip faster, making your lipstick bleed. Lastly, apply lipstick. If you want to ace a soft, natural look, then once you apply lipstick, dab it gently with your fingers so that you don’t have a layer of lipstick and it looks subtle.
Makeup #05: Use a beauty blender to apply foundation
Celebrity makeup artist Mitesh Rajani has an interesting makeup trick up his sleeve. If you want your foundation to look natural, smooth, even and non-cakey, then beauty blender is the answer. Applying foundation with a blender will help your makeup look super lightweight and natural.
