Take one look at Instagram and you will see it flooded with the gorgeous Sara Ali Khan. The latest star kid on the block is busy promoting her debut movie ‘Kedarnath’. She’s not been long on the scene, but she has already created a signature look for herself. Clean, fresh and youthful, her makeup is very simple. But do not let the simplicity fool you! A lot of work goes into creating the very famous ‘no-makeup’ makeup look. It is quicker and involves fewer steps than full-on makeup, but it still requires some effort!
Sara Ali Khan is the champion of the ‘no-makeup’ makeup look, and with each appearance she has given us precious pointers on how ace the look. We noted them all down here for you…
- Too many layers is a strict no-no
- Simple does it on the eyes
- Brows make or break the look, so make them good
- Keep lips neutral and close to their natural colour
Too many layers is a strict no-no
Skip the foundation and instead choose a concealer just to hide the problem areas. Prep your skin with a good moisturiser and use a concealer like Lakmé Absolute White Intense Liquid Concealer to hide pigmentation, dark circles and any other marks and pimples.
Simple does it on the eyes
The key is to define your eyes and yet keep your eyes looking natural. To achieve this, prep your lids with a beige or pale peach eye shadow. You can tightline your upper and lower lash lines using Lakmé Eyeconic Kajal. Next curl your lashes and apply Lakmé Absolute Flutter Secrets Dramatic Eyes Mascara, making sure there are no clumps and your lashes are fanned out.
Brows make or break the look, so make them good
When you are trying to get the no-makeup look, it is important to keep your eyebrows filled and well-defined. Brush out your brows with a spoolie and lightly fill them in using a pencil like Lakmé Absolute Precision Eye Artist Eyebrow Pencil in Dark Brown. After filling them in, brush them out again to even them out and give the brows a more natural look.
Keep lips neutral and close to their natural colour
Sara Ali Khan always sticks to nude shades on her lips. Choose colours that have a hint of pink, brown or peach, and make sure the colour is close to your skin tone. The trick is to make it look like you are not wearing any lipstick, so apply a matte lip colour like Lakmé Absolute Matte Melt Liquid Lip Color in Mild Mauve or use a tissue to blot a creamier lipstick like Lakmé Absolute Argan Oil Lip Color in Silky Blush.
Keep your cheeks as natural as possible and avoid contouring them. Just sweep a very light pink or coral shade to add a hint of colour and give you a healthy, rosy glow. Use the Kareena Kareena Kapoor Khan Lakmé Absolute Cheek Definer in Peach Princess for a subtle look like Sara Ali Khan’s.
