Beauty trends may come and go, but nothing beats the bare face makeup that is high on super dewy skin and flushed out cheeks. Contrary to the OTT makeup looks we spot on our feed every day (think metallic pout and shimmery eyes), this one is fresh, natural and minimal aka perfect for an everyday look.
But make no mistake, working a no-makeup makeup look isn’t as easy as it sounds. To make things easier for you, we roped in a beauty blogger to spill some beans on how she nails the bare face look. Here’s beauty blogger and YouTuber, Simmy Goraya (@simmygoraya) sharing her secret tips and hacks to nail the Insta-worthy no-makeup makeup look.
- 01. Prep your skin
- 02. Mix liquid highlighter with your moisturiser
- 03. Use Vaseline to highlight
- 04. Finish with a cream blush
- 05. Keep the rest of your makeup minimal
01. Prep your skin
The no-makeup look is synonymous with having spotless, smooth and glowing skin. To make sure that your skin looks naturally healthy and flawless, prep your skin thoroughly before reaching for your makeup products. Carry out your skincare routine: cleansing, toning and moisturising, before moving on to your base makeup.
02. Mix liquid highlighter with your moisturiser
To get glossy, lit-from-within skin, mix your highlighter with your moisturiser and blend it well onto your face. It gives you a nice glowy base without making you look like you’re wearing any makeup. Alternatively, you can also dab some cream-based highlighter on your face after you’re done with your makeup to fake a healthy glow.
03. Use Vaseline to highlight
On days when you don’t feel like using a million products on your face, simply get your jar of Vaseline and tap a small amount of it on the high points of your face like your cheekbones, nose, chin and forehead. It is an easy hack to highlight your features and effortlessly nail the no-makeup makeup look.
04. Finish with a cream blush
A gorgeous pink tint on your cheeks and lips can make you look fresh as a daisy. For this, take a cream blush or a lip and cheek tint and pack it on the apple of your cheeks and your lips. Blend it well to get a youthful and healthy blush on your face.
05. Keep the rest of your makeup minimal
Use some concealer to cover up the dark circles and acne scars and just leave it to that. Ditch the eyeliner and heavy eye makeup for fuller lashes and filled in brows. The healthy, glowy base, flushed cheeks and a tint on your lips is all you need to flaunt the gorgeous no-makeup makeup look.
