Holiday season just got done and ‘tis the time for a new one, the Awards Season. It was barely a week that we were recovering from the fabulous and breathtaking celebrity looks witnessed at the 76th Golden Globe Awards and they decided to hit us with the 24th Critics’ Choice Awards, held at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California. From side bobs to bangs and from blonde curls to dark burgundy lipstick, the celeb squad carried their beauty looks with unparalleled elegance and flair. Here’s a look at some of the beauty looks that perhaps even the critics couldn’t ever find fault with.
An actress pretty accustomed to winning accolades, Charlize Theron has had her fair share of walks on the red carpet (or a blue one in this case). Nevertheless, she always manages to bring a very fresh and tasteful vibe with her beauty looks. She sported a super deep side part with tiny braids creating the impression of an undercut. A terracotta smoky eye look to complement those gorgeous green eyes made her appear every bit the goddess that she is.
When you’re nominated for your role in a movie titled ‘Crazy Rich Asians’, there’s quite a lot of expectation that you would wear something outlandish to the carpet. Constance Wu opted to go with a more uncomplicated yet chic look with a soft blush and nude lips. Her hair looked different with her locks styled straight and her brand new bangs slightly swept to the side. Adorably pretty, we’d say!
In complete contrast to the usual makeup and hairstyles adorned by her, this ‘The Phantom of the Opera’ star brought her dark side to the carpet with her hair held back slick into a graceful two-bun updo and a very goth dark burgundy lip colour. With a look like that, we’re pretty sure she wouldn’t need any supernatural powers to put us in a trance.
Sometimes, not making a bold statement is perhaps the boldest one of them all. Nominated for the Best Actress award for her role as a singer-songwriter in the romantic musical drama ‘A Star Is Born’, Lady Gaga shocked all present when she walked the carpet wearing minimalist makeup and gorgeous platinum-blonde wavy hair. The false lashes and the glossy lip were certainly in line with the feel and flavour of the movie, wonderfully vintage.
