One of the most aesthetically pleasing shows to come out in recent times, Euphoria is more than just a teen drama. The show broke new ground, showcasing diversity in fashion, lead cast, gender identities, and yes, makeup. It is already a cultural phenomenon among young beauty lovers and with 5 Emmy nominations announced recently, it is on its way to becoming a critic favourite too.
We are stoked to see the Euphoria girls slaying it on the red carpet, virtual or otherwise. And while we wait hopefully for Zendaya to walk up to receive her lead actress award, here are some makeup looks inspired by the show to try in the meantime. A word of caution: these makeup looks might not be for the weak-hearted!
- 01. Jules’ electric blue eye look
- 02. Maddy’s embellished lids
- 03. Cassie’s turquoise and crimson look
- 04. Lexi’s shooting stars
- 05. Kat’s intense red adventure
01. Jules’ electric blue eye look
Jules (Hunter Schafer) has some of the wildest makeup looks on the show. From gold flakes laden brows to pastel eyeshadows paired with every ensemble, we are in awe of makeup artist Doniealla Davy’s work with the character. The glittery blue shadow packed over a smokey base and paired with brown glossy lips is just - wow!
02. Maddy’s embellished lids
A complete opposite of Jules’ androgynous makeup, Maddy’s (Alexa Demie) makeup looks were all about clean lines and feminine charm. The rhinestones used in different ways are a crash course for anyone wanting to experiment with embellished makeup!
03. Cassie’s turquoise and crimson look
Cassie’s (Sydney Sweeney) ice skating dream sequence is one of the best makeup looks we saw all season. But it's her loud and proud Halloween look that stuck with us. The turquoise eye (drawn on with glittery eyeliner and concealer brush to look chunky) and crimson shade lips is such a fabulous statement-making moment for her character.
04. Lexi’s shooting stars
Shy girl Lexi (Maude Apatow) kept it low-key the whole season but came out with this quirky makeup look for the final episode. The shooting star stickers on the brow bone are such a cute way to upgrade a simple lilac eye makeup. Paired with coral lips, this makeup strikes the perfect balance between minimal and OTT.
05. Kat’s intense red adventure
A body-positive character that instantly became a fan favourite, Kat (Barbie Ferreira) shifted to shock eyeshadows and bold lipsticks in her journey of being more confident in her body. We love this statement-making gothic that has an element of pop to it.
