From Priyanka Chopra Jonas to Alia Bhatt, Bollywood divas leave us in awe with their gorgeous natural makeup looks that are perfect for all occasions. The simple, minimalist charm around natural makeup looks have left us all crazy about them. And why not? There is nothing we love more than looking absolutely gorgeous without seemingly having tried too hard.
So, to help y’all look au naturel, we have mapped out a step-by-step guide on how you can ace the natural makeup look like a pro. Scroll on
- Step 1: Prime your face
- Step 2: Keep your foundation light
- Step 3: Don’t forget to conceal
- Step 4: Add blush
- Step 5: Define your brows
- Step 6: Work with a little mascara
- Step 7: Gloss it up
- Step 8: Add some highlighter
Step 1: Prime your face

Prepping your face with a primer helps you get a flawless base. The primer creates the perfect canvas for your makeup to glide on, ensuring your face doesn’t end up looking cakey. It also softens blemishes on your skin and minimises the appearance of large pores. So make sure you invest in a nice primer to get a perfectly natural look.

Step 2: Keep your foundation light

Now, we understand that foundation is the most important part of your base makeup, but if you want to achieve a natural makeup look, then you need to go easy on your foundation. Ditch the high-coverage foundation and opt for a light to medium coverage foundation or CC cream. It’ll give just enough coverage and still look skin-like. Blend it well with a damp makeup sponge for an airbrushed look.

Step 3: Don’t forget to conceal

If your foundation has managed to cover most of the blemishes, you can skip this step. But if you need extra coverage, apply a thin layer of concealer only on areas that require it, like your under eyes, corners of the mouth, etc. Then, using your finger, gently pat — don’t rub — the product in.

Step 4: Add blush

Next, it’s time to add a healthy flush of colour to your face. Just make sure you don’t overdo this; the idea is to add some colour to the face without looking like a clown. Sweep some blush on the apple of your cheeks using upward strokes. To make sure it blends properly and looks natural, you can blend it in with a damp beauty blender.

Step 5: Define your brows

Enhancing and shaping your brows to perfection can help define your face. The idea is to embrace your eyebrow’s natural shape and define it with an eyebrow pencil. Just fill up your brows and brush them with a spoolie brush to tame unruly hair, and you’re good to go.

Step 6: Work with a little mascara

Since the idea is for a minimalist, natural look, you need to forgo your eyeliners and eyeshadows, but your mascara can still work to draw attention to your eyes. Start off by curling your eyelashes, and then apply some mascara to add volume and drama to the lashes.

Step 7: Gloss it up

It’s your lips’ time to shine! Instead of going for a matte or cream lipstick, we suggest sticking to a lip gloss to add a natural yet glossy hue to your lips. You can even go for a slightly tinted lip balm or choose a bold road and pick a lip gloss to make your lips appear fuller. Just add a dab of your gloss to your lips and blot out all the excess product from your lips, and you’re ready to shine.

Step 8: Add some highlighter

Lastly, it’s time to add a highlighter to your look. This gives a nice, dewy overall look to your face. Use a brush to sweep some highlighter across your cheeks, forehead and nose to add a shimmery, lustrous glow to your look. Remember not to overdo it; the idea is to add just some glow to your look.
