Between staring at your laptop all day and Netflix binges at night, getting a good night’s sleep becomes impossible. No surprise then that your face looks dull, tired and lacklustre the next morning.
While a few cups of black coffee would be enough to help you function and get the job done, what about your face and eyes? Looking wiped out on that WFH video call is so not an option. Thankfully, a little makeup can fix that.
Here’s how to rescue bleary eyes by faking a wide-awake look with these simple tear duct makeup tricks. Read on.
Trick #1: Pick the right product
All of us know how applying a little highlighter in the inner corner of your eyes is a sure-shot way to instantly look bright-eyed and more awake. But always opt for pink or rose gold shades instead of silver. This is because pink is a universally flattering shade that looks lovely on all skin tones. It helps to immediately brighten the eye area by re-balancing the yellow and pink undertones. Using silver in the tear duct when you have dark circles and puffy eyes enhances the blue undertones and make your eyes appear more sunken and tired.
Trick #2: Use the correct texture
Try and avoid using heavy cream and liquid products when trying to brighten up the eyes by highlighting the tear duct area. It would be safe to stick to powder formulas for this. But if you want to use a liquid formula, then get your hands on those products that settle to a powder finish on drying. This is because most liquid highlighters tend to sit awkwardly in the area and draw unwanted attention.
Trick #3: Apply it right
Your application technique also makes a huge difference. Apply a tiny bit of highlighter right in the inner eye corner and blend it outwards. But it doesn’t end there. Line your lower lashline (also known as waterline) using a nude eye pencil to fully open up your eyes.
