Outfits have been steamed, looks refined and hair mastered and as the models slip into their heels, we are happy to witness the start of the Lakmé Fashion Week S/R ‘19. Off to a glorious start against the enchanting backdrop of the Royal Opera House in Mumbai, we turned our attention to what excites us most, the makeup and hair!

It was a glittering start, quite literally, with models going heavy on chunky, light-reflecting glitter at the opening show by Gaurav Gupta. Rosario Belmonte created a heavenly look with strategic use of highlighter and glitter that looked stunning. Marcelo Pedrozo was on hair and created very sleek, structured chignons that was just the cherry on top!

Chunky glitter was used to maximum effect at the Gaurav Gupta opener, with a draping effect, which is when the glitter is used to round the eye socket.

Glitter was used on the lips as well for a multi-dimensional effect.

Skin was kept dewy and fresh, with a subtle sheen that complemented the overall shimmer factor.

The hair was structured and sculpted in a wave-like chignon. The hair also reflected the theme of shine and shimmer as it had been gelled back for an almost wet-hair look.

Highlighter was used to contour collarbones so they looked defined and sculpted.
