Women’s Day special - Women who embrace their beauty and inspire us: Mindy Kaling

All of you girls will know of Kelly Kapoor, the quick-talking chatterbox from the television series, ‘The Office’. Mindy Kaling, who plays Kelly Kapoor is an American actor of Indian origin. She also created, starred, produced and wrote another hugely popular series, ‘The Mindy Project’, in which she plays an ob-gyn, Dr Mindy Lahiri.

We love the character she plays and further love the way she balances the two sides of the character. On the one hand, Dr Mindy Lahiri is sassy, vain and boy-obsessed, and on the other, she is an accomplished, independent, colourful character.

So while we are celebrating Women’s Day by shining the spotlight on inspiring, interesting women who have embraced their individuality and beauty, we bring you Mindy Kaling, who gives beauty goals for every Indian girl out there.

Mindy sticks to very neutral makeup and does it perfectly! The accent is always on the eyes, with black kohl rims framing them

She does not shy away from bold prints and clamorous colours and manages to pull it off with élan. We love the pairing of the bold, deep burgundy lip with the green and blue outfit.

Her hair is kept simple and straight with maybe the occasional half-up hairdo.

We love the pairing of the deep red lip, smoky eyes and the curls. Just perfect with the fit and flare dress.

She sure knows how to dress for her body type and we love the bold lip and the shiny tresses with the embellished gown.

Perpetually has OCD. Obsessive contouring disorder. Her idea of dressing to walk the dog includes cleanse-tone-moisturise-serum-primer-sunscreen-concealer-foundation-contour-powder-highlighter-bronzer-eyebrows-eyes. (Catches breath) She loves perfectly constructed sentences as much as she loves perfectly blended contours. Enough said.
