Step 1: Colour your lids

Moisturise your face and start with your eye makeup first so any product-spills on your face won't ruin your base makeup. Apply a small amount of your moisturiser on your lids to make it easier for the eyeshadow to blend and stay put all day. Create a base by packing a light shade like beige on your upper lid. Since it’s a day look, keep your eye makeup subtle with an understated colour like mauve, brown or pink and apply it on your upper lid. Blend it all over the lid till the crease using an eyeshadow brush. Make sure there are no visible lines.

Step 2: Define eyes

Next step is to make your eyes pop with a swipe of kajal and liner. Take a black kajal pencil and line your eyes by applying it along the lower waterline and lash line. Take the eyeliner and line the upper lid as well. You can extend your liner into a wing to create a cat-eye look. Apply kajal on the upper lash line, that is, tightline the eyes to make them look naturally defined. If you are going for the kohled look, take an angled brush and blend the kajal for a soft smudge.

Eye Lashes Look

Step 3: Amp up the lashes

Finish your eye makeup with a couple coats of mascara for fuller looking lashes. Pick your waterproof mascara and run it along the lashes. The right way to apply mascara is to swipe and wiggle the wand over the lashes. It separates your lashes and gives them volume and length. You can keep the back of a spoon on your lid and then use the wand to avoid any mascara mishaps. Carefully apply it on the lower lashes as well. Apply one coat and then another in a few minutes to make it thicker and last all through the day.

Step 4: Apply foundation

First things first; take a fluffy brush and clear any eyeshadow residue on your cheeks. Next, the most basic makeup step for achieving near-perfect complexion is to apply foundation. Take your foundation and apply small dots of it all over your face. You can use a beauty sponge, foundation brush or your fingers to blend, depending upon the coverage you want.

Use blender or sponge for high coverage, brush for medium coverage and fingers for light coverage. Blend it outwards, starting from the centre of your face, that is, cheeks, forehead and nose. While blending near the lower part of your cheeks, blend it in downward strokes to hide the peach fuzz and get a flawless finish

Liquid Concealer

Step 5: Conceal any blemishes

Foundation doesn’t hide dark circles, dark spots, redness and acne marks but a concealer can do the job perfectly. After you’ve blended your foundation, reach out for your stick or liquid concealer and apply it on your under eye area in an inverted triangle shape and dot it on your acne scars, dark spots and any other blemishes you can spot on your face. Apply some around the chin and sides of your nose for an even-toned complexion. Blend the concealer well using a flat brush or beauty blender so there are no visible lines.

Step 6: Set the makeup

Learn this easy makeup step to make your makeup last all day. If you have oily skin, use a compact powder or translucent finishing powder to set the base makeup. It will not only make your makeup last and keep it from melting, but also mattify your look and keep it oil-free. Also, if there are any visible lines, it will fill it in and give you a smooth and even finish. Buff some powder evenly using a face brush. However, if you happen to have dry skin, top your base makeup with a mist of setting spray to hydrate your face and set the makeup in place.

Eyebrow Look

Step 7: Do your brows

Brows frame your face and you absolutely cannot go out without defining your brows. This is now a basic makeup steps in every girl’s daily makeup routine. Make them look fuller and defined by shaping and filling your brows with an eyebrow pencil in the same shade as your hair. Don’t go darker or lighter than that or it won’t look natural. Take a spoolie or an eyebrow brush and brush your brows neatly. Now, take the eyebrow pencil and shape your brows and fill in any sparse areas and make your brows look groomed and gorgeous in a minute.

Lipstick Look

Step 8: Swipe on a lipstick

The last of the simpliest makeup steps for everyday look is dressing your lips in a gorgeous lip colour. But before you get to the lipstick, moisturise your lips with a hydrating lip balm. It keeps your lips from drying, especially if you are wearing a matte lip colour. Apply your lip balm and dab a tissue paper to remove the excess product. Next, line your lips with a lip liner to make your lip colour last long and keep it from bleeding or smudging. Once you outline your lips, fill in the lips with the same lip liner. Apply a swipe of lipstick of your choice on your lips and top it with a lip gloss of the same colour. You can use the same lip colour as a cheek tint for some natural flush. And, you are done!
