With so many different terms in the beauty world, it would come as no surprise if someone came up with a dictionary for beauty enthusiasts. In our back to basics series today, we are going to discuss something common yet often ignored - tightlining.

You might not be familiar with this technique if you’re a newbie. Well, that’s what we’re here for. Tightlining defines your eyes without having to put in too much effort. If done right, tightlining can make your eyes appear bigger without anyone knowing the trick you’ve used.

Now that you know the benefits of tightlining, should we move on and learn how to do it perfectly?

Step 01:

Step 01:

Make sure your hands are clean. Start by lifting your upper lid with a finger so that you can clearly see your upper waterline.

Step 02: Take a kohl pencil or a flat makeup brush dipped in the Lakme 9 to 5 Naturale Gel Kajal – Black and gently start lining your upper waterline. Try to get as close to the roots of your lashes as possible for a natural and volumizing effect.

Step 03: For a more intense look, tightline your lower lash line as well. Repeat the same process as above. Pull the lower lashes downwards gently and fill that too. You can use a nude eye pencil for this to make your eyes look more awake and bigger.

Step 04: Lastly, since this is your first time, you are bound to make mistakes, but don’t worry. Simply dip a Q-tip in micellar water and carefully clean the smudges (if any) to get a polished and clean look. If you are planning to curl your lashes, wait for a few minutes until the eye product settles, then use your eyelash curler. Picture courtesy: Instagram
