Glitter makeup screams glamour, no doubt! But do you know the flip side to this? It’s the fallout. Most girls love the look that glitter gives but hate the struggle that comes with making their glitter eye makeup stay on longer.
But what if we told you that with the right method of application you can totally rock glitter eyes and make it stay way past midnight? Yes, here’s putting your struggle with glitter to end! We’ve got you covered with a step-by-step guide to wear glitter eyeshadow like a pro.
Step 01: Prep
You’ll be surprised to know that prepping for glitter eye makeup starts a night before. Confused? Well, the key to keeping your glitter eyeshadow from slipping is to ensure your eyelids are well-moisturised and hydrated, but not minutes before applying the shadow as that will make your lids oily and won’t make any other pigment stay.
Before hitting the sheets, apply a hydrating eye cream such as the Lakmé Absolute Argan Oil Radiance Night Revival Eye Cream. This will hydrate the skin around your eyes and make it look more radiant. Don’t forget to wash your face the next morning and make sure to start work on a clean slate.
Step 02: Prime
This is the most important step in your eye makeup, especially when you’re aiming to create glitter eyes. Primer helps the eyeshadow pigment glide on smoothly and makes your eye makeup last longer.
However, make sure you use a primer that makes the glitter stick to your eyelids seamlessly.
Step 03: Apply eyeshadow
The best way to apply glitter eyeshadow is with your ring finger. Avoid using a brush to apply glitter pigment on your lids as that can mess it up.
Sweeping glitter across your lids can cause major fall out. Therefore, just take some glitter on your ring finger and gently pat it on your lids.
Keep your eyes closed for a few minutes so as to prevent your glitter shadow from creasing.
Step 04: Clear the mess
Now, this step is completely optional. If you are a makeup novice, then this trick will prevent any fall out from ruining your face makeup. If you see any glitter fallouts on your cheeks and under-eye, simply use a non-adhesive tape to get rid of the specks.
Step 05: Set
Lastly, don’t forget a setting spray. Once you’re done with your entire face makeup, use a setting spray to ensure your makeup stays on all night.
