We know you have been guilty of staying up late into the night on a weekday, binging on one too many episodes of your new favourite show on Netflix, only to realise that you have less than 5 hours to head to work.  I can almost see a hundred fellow bingers nodding in synchrony.

Thanks to clever makeup techiniques, it is not difficult to fake 8 hours of sleep and look extremely fresh and healthy.

Follow these simple tricks to achieve the cult favourite ‘I woke up like this look.’

Perfect the base

Perfect the base

After a solid skincare routine, it is now time to perfect your base. But instead of your regular foundation, reach for a lightweight BB cream as you want your skin to look naturally flawless and not made up. Mix it with a bit of hydrating moisturiser for a sheer-to-medium finish that looks radiant. This will also make your skin look well rested.

If you have dark circles that your BB Cream can’t conceal, use a very little amount of a concealer to cover them and look flawless.

Tame your brows

Tame your brows

When your brows are properly groomed, it frames your face and makes it look a lot more defined. Use a brow pencil and imitate your natural brow hair using wispy strokes with a light hand. For that extra edge, try to keep your brows even but don’t try to attain perfection, as rich messy brows read character.

Keep the eyes absolutely naked

Keep the eyes absolutely naked

No one wakes up with kohl-rimmed or smokey eyes and hence you need to forget about your eyeliner and kajal. But since your eyes still need some sort of a depth and definition, reach for a nude eye pencil and oodles of mascara. Remember to use the mascara only on your upper lashes and use the nude eye pencil to line your lower waterline and inner corners for bigger and brighter eyes.

Highlighter, for the win

Highlighter, for the win

Glowing skin is a mandate no matter what makeup look you’re trying to achieve. And it is especially important to wear a lot of highlighter for this look as you want your skin to look natural and lit-from-within. Use a stick highlighter for this purpose as they apply more evenly and give a natural finish.

Nude lips

Nude lips

To get this look right, turn your back on all your favourites red and pinks. Instead, reach for a beautiful nude brown of pink colour, something that’s closest to your natural lip colour. If you have pigmented lips, dab a little concealer on the centre of your lips and blend it out to the edges before you apply the lip colour. You can even top it with a little bit of lip gloss in the same colour for added drama.
