If you are anything like us and wearing that perfect pout means that much to you, here are six simple steps to acing the look.
- Moisten your lips
- Liner love
- Mark the ‘Cupid’s Bow with an ‘X’
- Lip strobing
- Fill your lips in
- A glossy lush pout
Moisten your lips
To ace that perfect pout, you need to care for your lips even when you are not wearing lip colour. Make sure you remember to moisturise your lips before you head to bed every night. We suggest you take a dollop of Vaseline Petroleum Jelly and sweep it right across your lips. Leave it overnight for soft, supple lips.
To get that perfect pout, start with a lip liner that matches your lip colour. Line your lips with gentle strokes. Here’s a quick tip—don’t start lining your lips from the Cupid’s bow. Instead, start just after the ‘V’ and move towards the outer corners of the mouth. We suggest you go for the Lakmé 9to5 Lip Liner, in a shade of your choice to achieve that perfect finish.
Mark the ‘Cupid’s Bow with an ‘X’
To make sure you are using your lip liner optimally, start at the highest point of your lip i.e. your Cupid’s bow. Draw a tilted line extending down from that point. Repeat on the other side of your top lip to make an ‘X’. Make sure you use a lip liner that matches the colour of your lipstick.
Use your lip liner to mark the top half of your Cupid’s bow with a ‘V’. Dab some highlighter on this ‘V’ to make your pout appear fuller. We suggest you use your finger to take a sweep from the Lakmé Absolute Moon-Lit Highlighter and apply it between this ‘V.’ Strobe your lips well before you move on to the next step of filling in the colour.
Fill your lips in
Now that you have created a neat outline, it’s time to fill in your lips with a matte lipstick of your choice.
To ace that perfect poppy pout, we suggest you opt for a bright shade from the Lakmé Absolute Matte Melt Liquid Lip Colour or pick a dark hue from the Lakmé 9to5 Naturale Matte Sticks. Apply it evenly onto your lips starting at the centre and move towards the outer corners till you’ve filled in your lips to perfection.
A glossy lush pout
Finish that perfect pout by using a glossy lip colour or a plumper to give your lips a fuller look. The ‘X’ you drew on your Cupid’s bow using your liner will also help you locate the exact centre of your bottom lip. The point directly below the ‘X’ is the centre. Dab some clear gloss at the centre of your lower lip to give your lips a fuller look and a lacquer finish.
We are huge fans of the Lakmé Absolute Gloss Stylist and we suggest you pick a shade from the range for luscious lips.
