Can you imagine going a day without some sort of colour on your lips? Lipstick is usually the first thing that comes to the mind when asked about the favourite makeup product, and rightly so. Applying a fresh coat of lip colour is probably the easiest way to go from ‘office-professional’ to ‘party-ready’.
So don’t worry if you have about 35 shades of nudes and 50 shades of red (It was totally the sales assistant’s fault!) we have rounded up the various ways in which you can use a lipstick other than just to colour your lips. You are totally welcome!
- As a cream blush
- As an under eye corrector
- Some glossy, long lasting eyeshadow
- For effortless contouring
- As a coloured eyeliner
As a cream blush

This is one tip makeup artists swear by to get a chic look. Using a cream or satin finish lipstick as a blush gives the perfect sheen and flush of colour to your cheeks. This is also pretty thrifty, as you are privy to a range of colour options that classic blushes fail to offer.
As an under eye corrector

Are you struggling to cover up the hangover from the previous night and your concealer just doesn’t seem to be doing enough? Fret not! Just reach for that red lippie and apply a bit of the product under your eyes and cover it up with your regular concealer. Ta-da! Welcome an even under eye area. Just remember to not apply too much as that could be difficult to cover with the concealer.
Some glossy, long lasting eyeshadow

In case you want your eyeshadow to last the entire day, evening and night, we suggest you use some of that lipstick on your eyelids. You can use those unused browns in your kitty for a sheer, daytime look, or go for an edgy pink eye look, if you so wish!
For effortless contouring

Most of the brown lipsticks in your makeup arsenal can double as contouring products. We know it sounds nightmarish, but trust us, it isn’t. Use it like any normal contouring stick to sharpen your nose and define your cheekbones and jawline. Make sure the lipsticks do not have any pink or orange undertones.
As a coloured eyeliner

We love getting creative with makeup! Coloured eyeliners are major at the moment and it is not necessary for you to invest in all the colours that catch your eye. Simply use an eyeliner brush and pick a shade of lipstick you would love on your eyes and apply that like you would any gel eyeliner.
