With those holographic and glitter nail trends now in action, don’t we all want those super-blingy nails? The obsession with glitter is quite apparent but it’s the removal process that isn’t quite as joyous. No! You don’t need heaps of cotton and bottles of nail polish remover. Just follow these quick steps to make the process super easy.

Step1: Use acetone

Step1: Use acetone

Acetone or acetone-based nail polish removers work well to get rid of that stubborn glitter by dissolving the nail paint. Go with a trusted brand or ask someone at the beauty store to help you with the right option!

Step 2: Soak 'em!

Step 2: Soak 'em!

Take some cotton balls or pads (one for each finger) and soak them in some acetone. Once they are well absorbed cover each nail with the cotton pad.

Step 3: Wrap them up!

Step 3: Wrap them up!

Grab a pair of scissors and cut some aluminum foil into strips. Make sure they are long enough to wrap all around your finger. After sealing the nail well with the foil, let it stay for around 5-7 minutes. Now, just take another go with the cotton balls. You’ll see how effortlessly the glitter comes off.

Step 4: Finishing touch

Step 4: Finishing touch

The excess amount of acetone will probably leave your fingers dry and harsh. Apply a few drops of almond or olive oil on your fingers and massage gently to replenish the lost moisture.

BB Quick tip: The next time you want to apply glitter polish, apply 2 layers of base coat as it acts as a barrier between the nail and the nail polish, thus protecting your nails and making it easier to remove the glitter nail paint.
