Sneak Peek: This is what a BB Beauty Editor carries to Lakmé Fashion Week

“Every day is a fashion show and the world is the runway”—well, quite literally, because it’s that time of the year again. Fashion week kickstarts today (or rather last night with Manish Malhotra’s grand opening)! While it-girls can’t wait to get in on the latest trends and spot the who’s who of the fashion and beauty world, it’s also a hectic five days (talking from a beauty editor’s perspective). You start your day early, wind up late and rush in and out of a dozen shows… Phew! Amidst all the hullabaloo, your own beauty game can really take a beating.

But this season, I have my arsenal and I’m ready to put my best “face” forward. No makeup meltdown, no unruly brows and no messy hair—here’s my guide to looking all put-together and uber stylish at Lakmé Fashion Week.

Cleansing wipes—need of the hour

All the running around at fashion week can leave my neck and hands sweaty. That’s when cleansing wipes come to the rescue. Also super handy if I feel like switching up my lip colour in the middle of the day or post lunch. All I need is the Simple Kind To Skin Cleansing Facial Wipes to freshen up or get rid of my old lip colour before I apply a fresh, new one!

Hand cream—for moisturising on-the-go

While it’s imperative for me to moisturise before I head out for a hectic day at fashion week, I always have a hand cream in my bag. Moisturising my hands every two or three hours prevents my hands, nails and cuticles from looking dry, rough and dull. This season, I’ll be trusting the Vaseline Cocoa Glow Moisturizing Cream to work its magic.

Nail file—so no chipped nails!

When I’m busy AF, my most common beauty disaster is a broken or chipped nail. But nothing my handy nail file and buffer can’t fix. It’s definitely a beauty tool you’re going to find in my handbag at fashion week.

Lipstick—to instantly up the glam quotient

Lipstick is one product I never leave the house without. And with a long working day ahead of me, a quick touch-up can do wonders for my makeup game.

Bobby pins/Barrettes—quick fix for my hair

My wavy hair can get a little messy, especially when I’m running around all day. That’s why I keep pretty barrettes and bobby pins handy at all times. A simple low bun secured with one of these can make all the difference in taking my hair game up a notch.

Compact powder—for long lasting makeup

No matter how hard I try to prep my skin, I’m definitely going to need a touch-up on the go. Dabbing on some of the Lakmé 9 to 5 Primer + Matte Powder Foundation Compact gives my skin that long-lasting matte finish.

Power bank—the ultimate saviour

I want to keep my gram updated, live tweet from the shows and make instant notes—all of this is bound to drain my phone battery half way through the day. To avoid the panic attack, a power bank is an absolute must.

Lip balm—a cover-up for dry, chapped lips

For someone like me who already has dry lips, keeping a lip balm handy at all times is vital. A single swipe of the Lakmé Lip Love Chapstick - Strawberry is enough to keep my lips well-moisturised. Totally ready to rock those matte lipsticks!

Mints/Protein bar—to the rescue

At fashion week, you are likely to end up kind of up close and personal with a lot of people thanks to the constant interviews and networking. Naturally, I keep breath mints handy all the time. I just might run into Kareena Kapoor Khan, you know.

So there you have it; a sneak peek into my handbag while I have the time of my life at Lakmé Fashion Week.
