Back-to-work: A super quick and easy skincare and makeup routine for rushed mornings

We’ve been working from home for over a year now, and it wouldn’t be wrong to say that we’re enjoying our slow, fuss-free morning beauty routines. Instead of applying a full face of makeup, as was the norm earlier, the lockdown has made us switch to using minimal makeup while focussing on dealing with skin imperfections more holistically. Needless to say, we love this new wholesome approach to beauty.

But offices are slowly resuming operations, and you know what this means? Super busy mornings, which will leave us with little to no time to follow an elaborate beauty routine *sigh*. But worry not, girls, we’ve got you covered. We’ve put together an effective and super easy AM beauty routine that you can follow on a rushed morning. Scroll down to check it out, and don’t forget to thank us later.

Step 01: Cleanse + Tone

Step 06: Lips

Start by cleansing your face to get rid of all the dirt, oil and sweat. Use a gentle cleanser like the Simple Kind To Skin Micellar Cleansing Water and follow it up with a mattifying toner like the Lakmé 9to5 Matte Moist Mattifying Face Toner. This alcohol-free toner restores the skin’s pH balance, tightens the pores and gets rid of impurities to keep your skin feeling soft and supple.

Step 02: Moisturise + SPF

Step 06: Lips

Next, it’s time to moisturise your face with a lightweight, gel-based moisturiser like the Pond’s Super Light Gel Oil-Free Moisturiser. It provides intense hydration, minus the chip-chip we oh-so-hate. Once the moisturiser has completely absorbed into the skin, go ahead and apply a generous amount of the Lakmé Sun Expert SPF 50 PA+++ Ultra Matte Lotion Sunscreen all over your face and neck to protect it from sun damage.

Step 03: Primer + Base

Step 06: Lips

Moving on to your makeup, start by patting on a pea-sized amount of the Lakmé Absolute Under Cover Gel Makeup Primer. This will fill in the pores and fine lines and give you even looking skin. Next, take the Lakmé Complexion Care Face CC Cream and apply it onto your face and neck with clean fingers or a damp beauty sponge for a seamless finish. We love the lightweight texture and natural-looking finish this CC cream gives us. You can go in with a concealer to cover any other imperfections (if needed) or skip it entirely.

Step 04: Eyes

Step 06: Lips

To recreate a super-quick eye makeup look, apply a nude eyeshadow shade from the Lakmé Absolute Infinity Eye Shadow Palette - Soft Nudes palette and blend it well. Next, skip the eyeliner and apply generous coats of the Lakmé Eyeconic Curling Mascara to define and open up your peepers.

Step 05: Cheeks

Step 06: Lips

Swipe on some of the Lakmé 9 to 5 Pure Rouge Blusher onto the apples of your cheeks to add a little warmth to your face. To fake that well-rested glow, go in with the Lakmé Absolute Highlighter – Moon Lit onto the high points of your face such as your cheekbones, forehead, bridge of your nose, cupid’s bow and chin.

Step 06: Lips

Step 06: Lips

It’s time to pucker the pout! Line your lips with the Lakmé Absolute 3D Lip Definer – Salmon. This will define your lips and give your lipstick something to cling onto, thereby making it last longer. Finally, sweep on any lipstick from the Lakmé Absolute Matte Melt Mini range all over your lips. This liquid lipstick’s intense matte finish will stay firmly in place even under a mask without feeling drying or uncomfortable.
