The recent launch of Kareena Kapoor Khan’s Signature Lakmé Absolute makeup range has had us all in a frenzy. After all it’s Kareena’s very own and first ever personal makeup collection.

But, is it worth the hype? We asked an expert from the beauty biz to try the products and tell us what she thought of Kareena’s makeup collection. We roped in the Beauty Writer at Grazia, Nishita Fiji to review the products and here is what she had to say…

“I like the cheek contour in Rose Gold. For a day look, I like using it on my cheeks as a highlight/blush and on my eyes lids as a shimmery eyeshadow. I have used the mascara from the range on my lashes and I like the length it gives them. I used the brow definer to lightly fill in my brows and used the spoolie brush to brush them out. I have used the pout contour in Blushing Temptress to lightly stain my lips. Overall, I love this makeup for a day look.”

“I usually don’t have the time in the mornings for elaborate makeup which includes contour. Occasionally, I like contouring my cheeks but not my nose. I like cream contour sticks rather than powder contours as the cream ones glide on to the skin better and blend easily. You do not necessarily need a brush to blend these. The Kareena Kapoor Khan Lakmé Absolute range has many shades of face contours, and I could easily find a match for my skin tone, which I can use as foundation and one which is slightly darker than my skin tone, which I can use as a contour stick.”

“I am all about cream-based makeup. I think they just look more natural and fresh on the skin. They also stay for a much longer time than powder-based products. So in a cream Vs powder face off, cream will always win for me. I particularly like the cheek contours from this range as they are easy to apply and feel very lush on the skin without being heavy.”

On her perfect night look…

I like using eye pencils as eye shadows. I like using the pencil to line my entire eyelid and smudging it out for a soft smokey look. Nigh time definitely calls for mascara and highlighter and well done brows.

Three products that you would recommend from this range…

Three products that you would recommend from this range…

“I definitely recommend this range as the finish on the skin is creamy and light. The products give a sheer wash of colour that you can build depending on the look you want. I would recommend the pout definers, as they are matte without being dry, the cheek contours which are sheer and give the perfect hint of colour on my cheeks and the nude-ish lip definers which have amazing staying power (they stayed through the morning and lunch!).”
