Stuck In A Makeup Rut? Here’s How To Add Colour Into Your Makeup
Written by Harshitha PrabhakarDec 10, 2018
It happens to all of us. You buy a whole wardrobe full of clothes, but end up wearing the same two tops every day! Same thing with makeup! You end up getting in a rut with the same old colours. You stick to the colours you like and before you know it, you are reaching for the same products for the same look, day-in and day-out.
A lot of colours compliment Indian skin tones, from olive and sea foam greens to deep burgundies, they all look flattering on warm skin tones. We bring you some easy ways you can include colour in your makeup, so it does not look monotonous. Take inspiration from these looks and pep up your look!
Swipe on colour mascara for a subtle hint of colour on your eyes. Take a cue from Cara Delevingne and coat your lashes with blue mascara like Lakmé Eyeconic Blue Mascara.
Red gaze
Deepika Padukone looks awesome in red eyeshadow that is used to create this extra hot smoky look. It is a great alternative to the classic black smoky eye, and goes well with similar colour outfits. Use a red pencil like the Kareena Kapoor Khan Lakmé Absolute Lip Definer in Crimson to create the look.
Purple pout
Purples with blue undertones are a great colour for warm skin tones and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan rocks the colour on her lips. She pairs it with blue eye liner and makes for a very interesting look.
Pink fairy lights
Pink is an amazingly versatile colour. Swipe a shimmery pink eyeshadow across the tops of your cheekbones for a pearly pink highlight. Try the pink shades from the Lakmé Absolute Illuminating Eye Shadow Palette in Royal Persia for the look. To make it look glossier, you could apply the eyeshadow (As highlight0 and then dab a little Vaseline Pure Skin Jelly on top.
Yellow fever
Yellow is an underutilised colour in makeup, but it makes for a very complimentary shade for Indian skin tones. Use it sparingly on the inner corner of your eyes for subtle drama.

Perpetually has OCD. Obsessive contouring disorder. (Catches breath) She loves perfectly constructed sentences as much as she loves perfectly blended contours. Enough said.
