BB: Will eyeshadow become the new lipstick as wearing mask becomes the new normal?

AK: I definitely see eye makeup gaining prominence post lockdown. The trend of wearing bright shades that make your eyes pop will be huge. Matte lipsticks will be used as an eyeshadow or eye makeup base. So, don’t worry if you are a lipstick hoarder, it can definitely be put to use.

BB: What makeup trends are going to be huge post the lockdown?

AK: It will be all about eyes with tons of drama and well-groomed brows. Heavy contouring will give way to a minimalistic, fresh and clean base with a flushed cheek stain.

BB: Which looks will be the easiest to create and go well with a mask?

AK: A subtle hint of neutral eyeshadow shade with a dramatic wing for the day and sultry smokey eyes for the evening will be easy to create.

BB: Makeup tips to keep in mind while wearing a face mask?

AK: Skincare products like serums and sunscreens will get more attention as masks can clog the pores as well as cause skin irritation. Use minimal makeup products like concealer for spot correction and compact powder to buff skin. Doing a heavy base or contouring will be a strict no as it can stain your mask and leave the skin patchy.

BB: How to create a makeup look in under 5 minutes for a Zoom video call?

AK: Just hydrate your skin and wear sunscreen even while you are indoors to prevent blue light damage. Fix your brows, spot conceal only and add some blush on your cheeks (the blush can also be used on the eyelids too). Finish off with a soft lip tint and kohl or eyeliner on the eyes.
