She favours cleansers over face washes
When it comes to giving her face a good cleanse, Kirti revealed that she favours face cleansers over face washes. She is obsessed with oil cleansers and trusts them to take all the makeup and dirt build-up off her face. This helps her avoid washing her face too much and over-drying it.
She is a stickler for natural products
Kirti made it very clear early on in her Insta Live that she is not a big fan of cosmetic skincare products. Being an all-natural girl, her go-to moisturiser is a lightweight aloe vera gel that especially suits the humid Mumbai weather. A raw sugar + lemon lip scrub is the secret to her enviable pout. Another ingredient the actress swears by? Potatoes. She adds potato juice to her DIY face masks and also uses potato peels to keep puffiness at bay. Are you taking notes, girls?
She only uses water-based products
Kirti revealed that she has a normal skin type and opened up about some skin issues she faced in her 20s. In order to get rid of these issues, the actress worked closely with a dermatologist who recommended water-based products to keep clogging of pores and adult acne at bay!
She listens to her skin closely
Kirti is a big believer in switching up her products according to how her skin feels on a particular day. She recommends picking products according to the weather conditions you live in. She loads up on extra moisturiser if spending a lot of time in an air-conditioned room. She also switches her skincare routine every 6-8 months because she believes that the skin tends to get used to the usual products and may stop responding to them.
She seeks out ingredients
A big theme in Kirti's skincare chat were the ingredients she likes to put to work on her skin. Some of her favourites include retinol for anti-ageing, lactic acid for glow, hyaluronic acid for pigmentation, vitamin C and caffeine-infused products for body care. She credited retinol for clearing her face from all the damage it faced in her 20s. But only incorporate it in your nighttime routine as it can make your face sticky during the day.
She pays close attention to the eye area
Kirti never slacks off on eye cream and has multiple options for daytime and nighttime routines. She also uses oil cleansing for removing eye makeup as they leave a thin layer of moisturising oils behind, negating the use of a moisturiser afterwards.
