Deeply associated with Indian culture and spirituality, yoga is undoubtedly one of the most healthy and trending practices worldwide. With more and more people understanding the benefits of yoga in various aspects of their life, from fitness to overall gut, mental and body health, we thought we’d introduce you to our favourite side of yoga as beauty buffs—the skin benefits! Here are five asanas to practice regularly to achieve a healthy, rejuvenated glow on your skin.
01. Halasana (Plow Pose)
In this asana, your legs are brought as close to the ground as possible, above your head, in a laying down position. Doing three repetitions of this asana two times a day proves beneficial to achieve glowing skin. This pose improves digestion and increases blood circulation to the face, advocating glowing and healthy skin.
02. Sarvangasana (Shoulder Stand Pose)
This asana involves lifting your legs and body in a lying-down pose while putting the weight on your shoulders. This pose helps to improve the texture and quality of your skin by promoting blood circulation to your face hence rejuvenating the blood cells. It also helps get rid of acne, wrinkles, fine lines and dullness. This asana is comparatively harder, but with the proper practice and guidance, you’re good to go!
03. Trikonasana (Triangle Pose)
This triangle pose asana helps provide more oxygen to the skin by opening up the lungs, chest and heart. This, in turn, helps your skin feeling rejuvenated, revitalised and gives it a healthy glow. Doing this asana two times a day ensures optimal results within a few weeks!
04. Bharadvajasana (Torso Stretch Pose)
Gut health is essential to achieve healthy and nourished skin. Good digestion results in good excretion of AMA (undigested food) from the body, which gives you a flawless glow. This seated twist asana helps remove toxins from the organs, benefiting the health of your skin. This spinal twist is ideal for refining digestion and strengthening the back muscles.
05. Bhujangasana (Cobra Pose)
Popularly known as the cobra pose, this asana facilitates your heart and lungs to open up properly, improving your breathing. This pose also helps with better blood circulation aiding in removing free radicals from the body. Doing this pose helps with premature ageing, acne, psoriasis and helps in improving your overall skin and body health.
