5 Foot Care Tricks To Get Sandal-ready Feet In Summer

We’re in the thick of sandal season, which means you’ll see us strutting around in sequinned flats and strappy heels till the monsoon comes. Of course, flaunting our lovely feet also comes at a price; a regular footcare routine similar to the one we’ve adopted for our skin and hair. And don’t think that we imply perfectly pedicured nails. We’re talking about a very basic skin care routine that’s essential for your feet too. Here are a few foot care tips we swear by…
Avoid grime and dead skin build-up by giving your sole a righteous cleansing with the St. Ives Smoothing Apricot Exfoliating Body Wash. Trick #2 – Soak away your troubles
To give your feet a relaxing break, mix together 1 tablespoon of Epsom salt, a few drops of lavender oil and 1 teaspoon of baking soda in a large basin of warm water. Soak your feet it the mixture for 30 minutes. While the lavender oil works on revitalising your senses, the Epsom salt and baking soda breaks down dead, cracked skin with ease. Try this foot care soak every week to revitalise the part of your body that works hardest.
Trick #3 – Nourish away
Don’t forget to make your feet part of your skin care routine! Once you’ve washed them, give your feet a little lovin’ with the Vaseline Intensive Care Aloe Soothe Lotion. Made with pure aloe extract and micro droplets of Vaseline jelly, it will deeply nourish feet that are dry and parched. Massage a thick layer of the lotion all over your soles, your heels and area in between your toes to greet your newly smooth feet!
Trick #4 – Mask it up
Combine 2 tablespoons of olive oil with 3 drops of peppermint oil and the contents of 2 Vitamin E capsules. Slather this foot mask all over your feet and massage it into your soles and heels. Then wrap them up in a pair of cosy socks overnight to allow the mixture to thoroughly soak into your skin. When you wake up the next morning, you’ll find yourself with baby soft feet.
Trick #5 – Don’t forget your cuticles
Feet aren’t only about pretty toes and smooth heels—healthy cuticles matter too! Use a nail file to push the nail bed back and generously apply the Vaseline Pure Skin Jelly over the bed and around the nail. As the jelly is triple purified, it will soothe and heal dry skin to keep your cuticles healthy.
Trick #6 – Trust a pedi-rock
If you’re looking to give yourself a quick scrub while watching TV on the couch, keep a pedi-rock handy. This circular pumice stone is the ideal foot care tool as it can be used both wet and dry.
