You’ve finally booked your tickets for a vacation–-great, you deserve it! You probably have your ‘out of office’ mail ready and are busy booking rooms with views at your chosen vacation destination. Whether it is a weekend getaway with bae or a week long saunter by the beaches with your girl squad, you need to look your best while on your break (think of all the selfies!).

And that is precisely why we give you a beauty checklist, a checklist so your skin looks its best in all those vacay posts. Take a look...

1 month before – get a haircut/colour

1 month before – get a haircut/colour

If you are planning on getting a haircut or a hair colour before your vacation, then it is best to do it a month in advance as this will help you get used to styling your newly cut/coloured hair. Especially if you are getting fringes, it is best you allow some time for them to settle in before taking them on a vacation.

3 weeks before – get a facial

3 weeks before – get a facial

Facials usually help detox your skin and force out all the impurities from the pores. This may cause pimples to form soon after you get the facial. So give your skin time to heal after a facial by getting it 3-4 weeks before your holiday.

2 weeks before – start exfoliating your body

2 weeks before – start exfoliating your body

You want your skin to look moisturised and luminous, and totally flaunt-worthy. So start exfoliating your skin 2 weeks prior and immediately follow it up with a rich body moisturiser like the Vaseline Cocoa Body Cream.

1 week before – start all the ‘de-hairing’ processes

1 week before – start all the ‘de-hairing’ processes

We know you want to look and feel smooth in all your vacation pictures, so you will want to get everything, from you underarms to your bikini area waxed. We suggest you get all the waxing done 1 week before you take off as this will allow your skin to settle and heal, especially the sensitive areas like the bikini area.

2-3 days before

Now is the time to get your manicures and pedicures so they look fresh when you land at your destination. If you are planning on getting lash extensions (so you can do away with your mascara) this is the time to do it!
