Let’s face it, we all love some beauty indulgence over the weekend! Head massages, manicure and pedicure appointments are what our weekend plans are made of. Then why should our skin be any different?

Here is a step by step guide to pamper your skin over the weekend...

Facial oil

Facial oil

Start with a clean face and lather a good layer of facial oil on your skin. The oil not only helps moisturise dry skin, but it also softens dry, flaky skin. This helps get rid of dry, dead skin cells easily when exfoliating. You can also use oils like coconut oil, which are found in every household!

Steam

After the facial oil as been soaking into your for a while, wipe off the remaining oil on the skin with a clean napkin or tissue. Use a facial steamer or a pot of hot water and steam your face. This will open your pores and flush out impurities from them. Add a drop of fragrant essential oil like rose or lavender if you like. This will help you relax.

Exfoliation

Exfoliation

Now that you’ve opened and removed all impurities from your pores, use a gentle scrub to exfoliate your skin. The oil would have made your skin soft and the steam would have cleaned out your pores. The last step of exfoliating will take care of all the dead skin cells and dry flakes, revealing fresher, newer skin beneath.

Face mask

Face mask

It’s time to use a mask to nourish and hydrate your skin. Use clay masks to remove excess oil if you have oily skin. To make a mask that cleanses and moisturises, take some multani mitti and mix a little rose water and honey in it. Add turmeric if you have acne prone skin, as turmeric fights bacteria.

Infused drink

To have a spa like experience, add sliced cucumbers to a glass of cold water and sip on it while you have your face mask on. This will help you feel refreshed and ready to face another hectic week!
