Just like our hair and teeth, our nails are porous too, which means they absorb colour. At-home soak for discoloured nails
Step 01: Dissolve 1-2 tablespoons of liquid soap in a cup of warm water.
Step 02: Add 2 tablespoons of lemon juice and stir well.
Step 03: Allow your nails to soak in the water for 2 minutes.
Step 04: Take a soft and clean toothbrush and gently scrub the surface of your nails.
Step 05: Rinse your hands and look at your shiny and bright nails! Don’t forget to apply hand cream or lotion.
How to prevent nails from getting discoloured?
- Invest in quality nail colours and avoid deep dark colours like red, blue or maroon that often leave stains on the nails and are difficult to remove.
- Always use a base coat before applying nail polish. This ensures the colour lasts a few days longer and prevents your nails from getting discoloured.
- Wear gloves while doing the dishes and gardening. Sometimes colour from food can also cause discolouration, thereby eat with a spoon and wear gloves while washing the dishes.
