4 Ways To Use By-products From The Kitchen In Your Skincare Routine
Written by Urvi DalalJun 18, 2020
When it comes to finding natural skincare ingredients, there is no better place to start with than your kitchen. Every single day, we end up generating a lot of potent natural skincare alternatives in our kitchen and end up throwing it all away. Yes, really. But worry not ‘cause we’re going to show you four ways how you can include by-products from the kitchen in your skincare routine.
From reducing cellulite to being an amazing natural exfoliant, ground coffee is an excellent ingredient to add to your skincare routine. Simply take some ground coffee beans, add a bit of honey and gently rub it on to your skin for instantly soft and rejuvenated skin.
02. Orange peels
Did you know that orange peels have a higher vitamin C content than the fruit itself? And here you are, letting all those amazing nutrients go right into your waste bin. All you need to do is dry the orange peel in the sun for a few days, grind it all and use it either as a body scrub or add to your face masks to get that unmissable glow.
03. Green tea bags
Most of us usually end up discarding the used green tea bag, but please don’t do that the next time. Why? Well, green tea is rich in antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties. It helps to depuff your eyes and reduces the appearance of dark circles. Simply put some used tea bags in the fridge for about an hour and place it on your eyes for about 10 minutes to see the results.
04. Potato peels
Potato peels aren’t just great to make jacket potatoes; they also carry a lot of nutritional value. It contains an enzyme called catecholase that helps to even out skin discolouration and brighten the skin. Additionally, the anti-ageing properties of potato peels will leave your skin feeling tighter and firmer in no time.
