While a water bottle and gym shoes are a no brainer, you might be missing something really important while packing your gym bag. A hot and heavy session at the gym gives your skin a boost (no filter needed for workout selfies, yay!) but it harms it as well. How you ask? Sweat and dirt, not to mention germs and bacteria settled on the gym equipment, can cause breakouts, irritation, you name it.
Thankfully, you can avoid it by carrying these skincare products with you to your gym and be sure that your skin doesn’t pay the price of your workouts.
Wiping your sweaty face with palms or rubbing it on your sleeves does more harm to your skin than you can imagine. It can cause redness and itchiness and what not. Instead, keep soft facial wipes with you can dab it whenever you face is a dripping mess.
You might thing that washing your face can wait till you reach home, but you could not be more wrong. Working out rises body temperature and open pores. The oil and sweat go deep into pores causing blackheads and acne. Wash your face with a cleanser as soon as you are done with your workout.
You can’t really avoid the sweat, as that’s the whole point of working out, right? But what you can do is spritz a nice-smelling deodorant before workout and carry it with you to the gym to smell and feel fresh.
A cooling gel
You skin feels like it’s burning after a good workout sesh. And that’s a good thing, but it can lead to rash and redness. After you cleanse your face, apply a cooling gel or a moisturiser to calm your skin down and retain the moisture it lost.
Not only your face but your lips also become dry because of dehydration. And the result is chapped and flaky lips. So, last, but not the least, throw in your favourite lip balm into the bag to always keep your lips hydrated and soft during workout.
