The winters can be quite harsh on your skin. No matter how much to try to cover yourself up, it always succeeds in damaging your skin some way or the other. Winters tend to suck out all the moisture from your skin, leaving it dry, flaky and dull.
The only way to win against the harsh weather of the winters is to follow a strict skincare regime. Here’s the ultimate skincare routine to help you get flawless, hydrated skin even in the cold, harsh winters!
- #1 Cleanse Your Face
- #2 Exfoliate Gently
- #3 Use A Toner
- #4 Apply A Sheet Mask
- #5 Moisturize
- #6 Apply Some Lip Balm
#1 Cleanse Your Face
Start by cleansing your face thoroughly. If you have makeup on, take a wet wipe, drench it in makeup remover and use it to clean your face and your neck region. Once all the makeup has come off, cleanse your face using a chemical-free face wash. Pat your face dry with a cotton towel afterwards.
#2 Exfoliate Gently
Gently exfoliate your face and your neck region, paying specific attention to the areas that have larger pores and blackheads. We’d recommend that you use a paraben-free exfoliator to get the job done. You can even make your own face scrub at home using natural ingredients. Do not exfoliate for more than twice in a week though.
#3 Use A Toner
Toning your face is extremely important if you wish for healthy and youthful-looking skin. Take some of the toner onto a cotton pad and rub it gently over your skin in an upward direction. The toner cleanses any leftover makeup off of your face. Not just this, but it also unclogs your pores, shrinks them and tones your skin, making it soft and supple. If you wish to fight premature ageing and not have saggy skin, this is one step that you just can’t afford to miss.
#4 Apply A Sheet Mask
Sheet masks are probably one of the best inventions in the history of skincare. You do not even need to apply any additional serums or tonics on your skin. Just apply a sheet mask onto your skin and let it stay on for about 15 to 20 minutes. You can even use the leftover serum in the packet on your elbows, hands and the neck region.
This step is pretty crucial to skincare, especially during the winter season. Moisturizing your skin is of the utmost importance if you wish to have healthy looking skin. Take some hydrating moisturizer, warm it up between your fingers and gently rub it over your skin in a circular motion. Make sure that you cover your neck region as well.
#6 Apply Some Lip Balm
The last step is to apply a generous layer of lip balm onto your lips. Your lips tend to get dry and chapped during the winters, thanks to the harshness of the weather. Make sure that you keep your lips well hydrated by applying a heavy moisturizing lip balm onto them.
